We are the only comprehensive museum of Birmingham history in the area. Our museum begins in the furnace room with the discovery of iron ore and continues through the Civil Rights Era. We offer educational field trips that are aligned with the Alabama Course of Study. Our field trips normally run about 90 minutes and includes a trip to the Vulcan observation deck that overlooks the city.
